> ==The Goldsmith's Company has played a leading role in training apprentices for almost seven centuries== giving creative young people the opportunity and resources to flourish by offering living skills and job opportunities.
>Since the onset of the COVID 19 disruption the business as usual shows us alternative lifestyles rooted in satisfying work as opposed to what William Morris called useless toil. Making things is a human instinct easily dismissed as marginal or anachronistic. I'm delighted to see that making has recently experienced an upsurge helped by the internet and social media and runs across a scale from the intense application of skills seen at this fair to community projects and things done in the home so nobody's left out.
