Artist Selven O’Keef Jarmon provided the design and local volunteers were taught how to bead. >“Not only is their knowledge and labour being valued (the beaders were all paid an honorarium), but because of their ongoing visits and presence, they are also connecting to and commenting on the culture of Houston as much as the other way around…” (Burisch, 2021: 55).
